KIDS AERIAL YOGA CLASS FAQ’S

What do we need to know before our first class?

Before you arrive:

- pre-register and pay online

- wear tight-fitting, button and zipper-free clothes; long pants and a shirt that covers your armpits

- remove all jewelry, except glasses and post-earrings

- keep your toenails nicely trimmed

 Once you arrive:

- place your shoes and socks in a cubby

- quietly wait in our waiting area

- enter the studio floor when invited by an instructor

- adults and quiet siblings are welcome to remain in the waiting area or observe classes in the studio if there is room.

- non participating kids must be supervised by their adults in the waiting area (unless observing class with their child that is potentially going to participate)

- the waiting area is a calm/quiet zone

- please refrain from disciplining your child/children in a manner that disrupts the class. We encourage you to do so in a quiet manner if the instructor is unable to address the situation immediately. We welcome you to assist the instructor in facilitating the hammock for a particular exercise if asked upon.

POLICIES

What is your missed class policy?

In an effort to keep our class groups and lessons consistent, facilitate community rapport and deliver a uniquely evolving class and/or series, make-up classes are not offered for missed classes. However, life happens. We get it. So we aim to be flexible whenever possible. If there is an open spot in another appropriate class for your child to make-up a missed class, we will happily let you know.

What is your cancellation policy?

Registration holds a spot in classes with limited space and sometimes builds in complexity for an ongoing weekly session (i.e. 3-4 weeks) Once you register for a session, and are unable to commit, it may not be possible for a new child to jump in mid-session and take your child’s place.  If it is just for an open single class vs. a session, we encourage you to commit to that class. Refunds are not provided. However, we do understand unforeseen emergency circumstances which require you to cancel, therefore we will try to accommodate you as best we can by allowing you to do a make-up class. Please understand that there are circumstances on our end that creates more work to track and handle therefore each situation will be handled on a case by case basis. If you are unsatisfied with our services, please call us at (509) 947-0886  Our goal is to support you as best we can.

What should be worn to aerial yoga?

  • Students must wear tight-fitting clothing free of zippers, buttons, snaps, or any objects that can snag/tear the hammocks.

  • Remove all jewelry. Stud earrings and prescription glasses are allowed.

  • For safety, pull hair back that is at least shoulder length. No metal or jagged hair clips.

  • Wear leggings or pants and shirts with armpits to avoid hammock burns and discomfort.

  • Remove shoes and socks before entering the studio.

  • Keep toenails nicely trimmed to avoid tearing the hammocks.

  • Bring a full water bottle.

What are your class behavioral expectations?

Students are expected to demonstrate the following character traits in each class:

  1. Be mindful. (i.e. be present in the moment, without judgment)

  2. Be kind and respectful. (i.e. to themselves, to others and the studio)

  3. Be cognitively flexible. (i.e. willing to try, learn and create new things)

Students must have the ability to:

    1. Follow safety instructions. (Children may be asked to take a break if observed violating safety rules.)

    2. Stay on task during class lessons. (Children may be offered a quiet space to take a break but are expected to do so without disruption.)

    3. Keep a peaceful/silent presence (avoid distracting others) during meditation/relaxation. (Children may be asked to sit in the front waiting room if they are disruptive.)

If your child is unable to meet these expectations in a group setting, you have the option of enrolling in private sessions in preparation for group work by e-mailing us at  3d-fitness.kp@gmail.com

3D-Fitness, LLC reserves the right to remove or transfer a child that is unable to meet these expectations to ensure safety of all children and to honor the time and practice of all enrolled students.

What are the waiting room expectations?

The front room is the waiting area for classes starting or ending. Kids are encouraged to use play equipment, books and other items in the front room but their adults are responsible for supervision until kids are invited into the studio by an instructor. Adults must be present when class ends.

Please help your child(ren) develop respect for the studio and aerial yoga practice by explaining the importance of removing shoes, keeping calm voices, and turning off or leaving behind all electronics and phones when in the building. If adults need to take a phone call or kids need to move their bodies in a bigger way while waiting, please feel free to do so outside and help us keep a calm area in the waiting room.
